The Woodbridge Warrior Girls competed at the Division 1 Southern Section CIF Meet last weekend and had many standout swims! The Warrior Girls concluded the preliminary session by placing all three relays in the Championship Final and placing five swimmers into the final session on Saturday.
Here are some event highlights!
200 Medley Relay:
The Woodbridge Warrior girls looked strong in both the preliminary and final session! The Woodbridge Team of Jamie Yeh, Juliana Witting, Amanda Anderson, and Melodie Pugar finished in 7th Place in the Finals with a CIF-State Automatic Time of 1:46.91.
200 Individual Medley:
In the preliminary session, Julia Cho looked strong and dropped another second off her best time, finishing in 25th Place with a time of 2:11.84. Amanda Anderson was right on her best time in prelims to qualify for the Championship Final where she dropped down to a 2:04.67 to earn 6th Place with a CIF-State Automatic Time!
Phoebe Yeh had a dominant performance and dropped down to a 23.50 in the Preliminary Session to break the Woodbridge Warriors Team Record! In the Finals, she sprinted to a 3rd Place finish in another team record time of 23.38 to earn a CIF-State Automatic Time! Juliana Witting had a speedy preliminary swim to finish just outside the Consolation Finals with a 24.82.
Jamie Yeh was just 0.03 off of breaking the Woodbridge Team Record in the Preliminary Session, and ultimately finished in 6th Place with a time of 55.25, earning a CIF-State Automatic Time! Kate Cho had a great preliminary swim and finished 32nd with a time of 1:00.20.
Phoebe Yeh had a great race in Prelims to qualify for the Consolation Final in 10th Place. In Finals, she swam to 12th Place in a 52.06.
200 Freestyle Relay:
The Woodbridge Girls snuck into the Championship Final in with a 9th Place Finish in Prelims with strong swims by Phoebe Yeh, Kate Cho, Juliana Witting, and Melodie Pugar. In Finals, the team of Juliana Witting, Olivia Averill, Melodie Pugar, and Phoebe Yeh dropped 0.01 off of their preliminary time to finish in 9th Place.
Jamie Yeh finished the Preliminary Session with an amazing swim to earn top seed in the Finals Session. She ultimately finished the Finals in 4th Place with a 55.12. Julia Cho competed in Prelims and finished just out of the Consolation Final with a 21st Place Finish.
The Woodbridge Warriors had some great preliminary swims from Melodie Pugar, Amanda Anderson, and Juliana Witting! Juliana Witting and Amanda Anderson both qualified for the Consolation Finals where they finished 15th and 16th Place.
400 Freestyle Relay:
The Woodbridge team had a great preliminary swim and the team of Jamie Yeh, Kate Cho, Amanda Anderson, and Phoebe Yeh finished 6th with a time of 3:32.97. In Finals, the team of Jamie Yeh, Olivia Averill, Amanda Anderson, and Phoebe Yeh finished in 9th Place with a CIF-State Consideration Time of 3:36.97.
Overall, the Woodbridge Warriors finished in 5th Place with many standout swims, and are looking forward to competing in their first ever State Competition!
