Woodbridge defeated Portola 11-0 on Wednesday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Daniel O'Hanlon (1-0 2.47) earned the win in the first varsity start of his career. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on two hits over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Max Pannier, Dylan Blakey, and Tallakson all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.
Sean McCance led the Warriors to victory by driving in five runs. McCance went 2-for-3 at the plate driving in two runs with a single in the third, and again in the fifth.
Woodbridge notched six runs in the fifth inning led by McCance, Jaden Hoang-Tieu, Tallakson, and Nathan Perry, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Kaeden Foucart took the loss for Portola. The Bulldog went two and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out four.
Woodbridge tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. McCance led the way with three.
PCL NOTES
Laguna Hills continues to pace the field with a 10-6 win over Northwood Wednesday. The game was tied at six heading into the seventh but the Hawks opened the frame with four runs and held the T-Wolves scoreless in the bottom frame. Laguna Hills sits on top of the league with a 5-0 record.
Beckman jumped on Irvine early and never looked back cruising to an 8-3 win earning them a 4-1 record, tied with WHS for second place.
University had the bye on Wednesday.
