Despite rain forcing a move away from Mark Daily Field, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team took to the road and took out the #6 ranked team in Southern Section D2, defeating Canyon of Anaheim 11 to 10 in a fierce, physical contest.
Seniors Megan Benitez, Camille Hunter, Colleen McCarty and junior Joanie Hardcastle led the swarming Warrior defense, causing three turnovers each. Senior goalie Sara Oldham also intercepted three passes and made ten saves to help the team overcome a sizeable possession deficit.
The Warrior attack was efficient and clutch, with junior Shanon Miyagi acting as point guard and assisting on four of senior Taylor Le's team high eight goals. Seniors Emily Oldham and Dana Witkin also contributed to the scoring.
The Warriors stay on the road for three more games this week - at Temecula Valley on Thursday and then neutral site games against Murrieta Mesa and Glendale on Saturday at Laguna Hills.
